Cesar Gastelum tewas ditembak saat melakukan siaran langsung bersama teman-temannya di luar restoran cepat saji di Culiacan, Selasa (4/8).
Gastelum memiliki nyaris 600 ribu follower di TikTok dan dikenal luas publik karena video komedinya.

Insiden itu bermula saat Gastelum live, kemudian ada dua orang mengendarai motor dan lengkap menggunakan helm mendekati dia di luar restoran. Dalam rekaman siaran langsung itu, pengendara motor tampak menembakkan pistol ke arah influencer tersebut.
Salah satu pejabat keamanan di negara bagian Sinaloa mengonfirmasi kematian Gastelum dan mengatakan bahwa operasi keamanan besar-besaran sedang berlangsung, demikian dikutip

Pembunuhan ini terjadi di tengah kekerasan yang terus berlanjut di Culiacan. Kota tersebut jadi pusat konflik antara kelompok kriminal yang memperebutkan kendali wilayah.
Penembakan itu juga mengingatkan pembunuhan terhadap influencer kecantikan Valeria Marquez pada Mei 2025. Dia tewas saat siaran langsung di TikTok di salon tempatnya bekerja.
Marquez tewas usai seorang laki-laki masuk salon dan melepas tembakan ke arahnya.
Pembunuhan Maquez memicu pihak berwenang untuk melakukan penyelidikan menggunakan prosedur femisida. Petugas akhirnya menangkap Ramon Angel Alvarez Ayala yang jadi dalang pembunuhan.
Ayala dikenal sebagai “EL-R-1”, salah satu pemimpin dalam gangster narkoba Kartel Generasi Baru Jalisco (CJNG). Dia juga dituduh memerintahkan pembunuhan terhadap Wali Kota Uruapan Carlos Manzo pada November 2025.
